My #1 Mantra for Life

Want to know why I associate myself with Monica from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.? Here's why.

Helllooo readers!

Now that I have finally decided to launch a website, this journey is going to be a rendition of my experiences, setbacks, lessons, adventure, grief and laughter. As I shall move forward back and forth in time and elucidate upon my story maybe you’ll find yours.

To begin with the first mantra of my life- TIME WASTED IS LIFE WASTED.

Life exists in the present or nowhere at all, and if you cannot grasp that, you are simply living a fantasy.

It’s often a Sisyphean exercise to acquaint people with the fact that time is valuable in a way that money is not. The logic seems to work each time we are served a reminder of it, but tends to slip at first brush with other thoughts.

I have lived most of my life scheduling things, putting together a time table every day and ticking tasks.

Some people still wonder “Doesn’t so much routine take away the vibrancy and spontaneity of life?” HARDLY! Commitment gives you freedom because you are no longer distracted by the unimportant and frivolous.

So here are some tips to respect the time you have:

  • List down your primary and secondary priorities (focus more on achieving primary ones)

  • Plan out buffer days to stay on track and cover areas where you lag

  • Include even pint-sized tasks because putting ticks against them at the end of the day is satisfying

  • It could be a hourly or a daily time table (I usually make a daily one because I feel handling a hourly time table is cumbersome)

  • It is one thing to study war and another to live a warrior’s life so keep yourself motivated throughout. Ask your friends to act as your “Accountability buddies” but for me the best motivation comes from within.

  • Even if your completed task ratio falls below 50% initially, don’t worry you’ll improve with time and if you’re paralyzed with fear, it’s a good sign. It shows you what you have to do.

  • Add creativity: To keep yourself engaged keep adding new things to your schedule (I have carved out multiple days for myself such as “Everything clean day”, “Date with self day")

  • Above everything, breathe!

PUSH HARDER. The only thing between you and your goals is YOU.
